At Cupla Coffee, maintaining a healthy and nutritious diet is a way of life; emphasis on “maintaining.”   for the long  It is the day to day benefits they receive from fueling our bodies by giving them the micros that they need and the longevity that ensues that inspires their food choices and fitness practices.  Because they want to ALWAYS eat healthy they came up with treats and desserts that could be enjoy without compromising standards of nutrition.

They have created this “magically delicious and nutritious donut recipe”!  After all, who doesn’t love donuts! So here it is, for Primal Alterative their tasty donut recipe for you to make, enjoy and share!  It is loaded with healthy fats that fuel the brain and made with a low carb flour that won’t spike blood sugars or cause inflammation in the body.  It is truly a guilt-free indulgence!

This recipe is their plain/base donut which is intended to empower you as the baker to top, dunk, roll, or sprinkle your donut to your liking.  They have tried dozens of various toppings and dunks and say that all of them have proven delicious! This recipe for their go to cinnamon and sugar topping but please don’t stop there!  Let those creative juices flow and try many of your own concoctions!  Do share your photographs of your creations!

Paleo Donut Recipe

Mix the following ingredients in their own bowl:

3 ½ cups almond flour

3 tablespoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

 

Mix the following ingredients separately in an electric mixer:

2 eggs

½ cup mapled coconut cream (1 can coconut cream, pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla , 1 teaspoon maple extract)

1 tablespoon vanilla

½ cup coconut milk

 

Add dry mixture to the mixer with the wet ingredients. Mix until combined

Then:

Add 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil

Turns into a batter

Pipe batter into greased donut pans

 

Bake @ 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes

Makes 18 donuts

 

Cinnamon and Sugar Topping

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1/4 cup xylitol

1 tablespoon cinnamon

 

Mix in a bowl

 

Using a pastry brush brush donuts with melted butter and then roll donuts in cinnamon and sugar mixture

Fat=14.9

Protein=5

Carbohydrates=4.8
